Jet Charter International was incorporated in late 1990 with the purpose of obtaining an FAR Part 135 certificate for the operation of a Learjet 24 for Mr. Eugene Stoner, our first client and inventor of the M-16 rifle. During the next year and a half, with the help of the very knowledgeable and capable Terry Phillips and Paul Bosshold from P&M Computer Services in Ormond Beach, Florida, we completed the construction of the company operations and training manuals. Final approval was received and after conducting FAA Proving Tests out of the Ft. Lauderdale Flight Standards District Office we received certification on April 1, 1991.
Since then Jet Charter International, Inc. has managed more than a dozen aircraft to date to include numerous Falcon 10’s, Falcon 20’s and a Challenger 601. These aircraft were privately owned and allowed to “piggyback” on the certificate.
We are proud that no client has ever terminated our services for non-performance. They have either passed away or have sold their plane.
Today, with the advent of FAA Operations Specification A008 the entire strategy has to change. Instead of cursory oversight by the Certificate Holder definite “operational control” must be taken in every single aspect to include maintenance, flight crews and offering of transportation services to the public. Jet Charter International, Inc. has taken on the task of reconstructing the company to comply with these FAA guidelines and rulings.
I take personal pride in being able to say that Jet Charter International, Inc. is an incident free, accident free, violation free charter operator. Although ARG/US and Wyvern are useful services for the customers who charter airplanes they are simply not “bullet proof”.
